Criteria: Athlete you saw in person that you'll tell your grandkids about.* No executive council needed on this one. You want someone in; they get in. Why is Randy Moss our captain? Because I've seen him in person, he was just absurd (the best I've seen), and I started the thread, duh. LeBron. Jabari Parker as a Duke player. Against college kids, he was just on another level. Eric Berry. I'll probably think of more later.
I've seen Tom Brady play in person, and I'm sure my grandkids and I will discuss him, but not really because of what he did in that particular game.
Al. Wilson. Dale Earnhardt - yeah, yeah you said "athlete" Greg Maddux Mark Messier (I've seen Moss when he was at Marshall playing ETSU. He was a stud.)
Al Wilson Peyton Manning Brett Favre Eric Berry Jevon Kearse (in his prime, he was a freak athlete that could not be blocked coming off the edge, and if he was blocked, he could still reach out with his go go gadget arms and get a sack) Ray Lewis Jamal Lewis
Jordan LeBron Barry & Deon Sanders The next guy isn't in their class but has to be mentioned. Mike Vick. Edit* when I say "in their class" I mean overall greatness, athletically Mike is about as good as any of us will see and that's why I'll share a few stories about him with my kids.
Me too. I've seen a lot of football live and Brady in person wasn't a thing of beauty but it seemed like the ball never hit the ground that day
The year Chris Johnson went for 2,000 yards was pretty cool to see. He's past his prime, but for 1 or 2 years, he was the most exciting guy in football. I saw him against Arizona when he outran everybody twice on long scoring plays. Larry Fitzgerald is another one that was insane to see in person. He and Anquan Boldin were just as big if not bigger than the Titans' linebackers.
Terry Fair returned a punt for a TD in one of the first games I saw at Neyland. I'll always remember that
Al Wilson Peyton Manning Michael Jordan Eric Berry Chuck Webb Reggie Cobb Carl Pickens Dale Jones Alan Houston Bo Jackson Spencer Riley (Top 10 all-time favorite Vol, sue me)
There are so many former Vols I could list: Peyton Reggie Cobb & White John Henderson Jamaal Henry Bill Bates Billy Ratliff & Montario Hardesty just because of their heart Albert Haynesworth I could go on for hours.
