I’ve owned a copy of The Devil All the Time by Donald Ray Pollock for like 4 years and finally got around to reading it. Very good book, guess I can finally watch the movie now

Is Shadow and Bone worth a read, or just watch Netflix series?

Following this up with The Premonition. 90 pages in, very interesting.

I'm about 40% through Stephen King's Billy Summers and it is excellent. It's not horror, just a good story and I love the protagonist's complexity.

Well, think I will give Eye of the World by Robert Jordan another go. I struggle to get 100 pages into this thing, but I have heard so much good about the Wheel of Time I want to read it.

    Wish me luck

Good luck. I can't even get that far, though I think Netflix or someone is going to release a series.

    I'll probably just watch that...

I read the first one a long time ago. I want to read them but I’m not sure I want to make that sort of a commitment

Ordered a book about how 26 members of Custers E Troop were found in the same coulee.

Will be interesting as a Little Bighorn buff, of course it'll be mostly conjecture but will keep the brain working on the beach next week.

I read the first 10 books pretty quickly after talking with @Tar Volon about the series years ago. I really enjoyed but still need to finish it.

This one came today, will be my beach reading along with "Gunner with Stonewall".

I don't branch out much, just get deeper into what I like.

Well, I have gotten half way through the Eye of the World, much further than I have before. It has actually been not bad this time around.

However. The pacing is so slow, I cannot fathom how the hell this is going to take another 13 books to finish. I will finish this book and then see how it goes, but I just don't think it is holding my attention enough to make me want to read another 12,000 pages.

What did @Tar Volon say that prompted you to continue on or even try in the first place?

    "Brandon Sanderson finished the series."

Which... a finished series still isn't enough to get me to read them, yet.

Just a few pages away from finishing Friday Night Lights. It is fantastic but to best understand some of the dialogue it's had me Google Earth'ing 500 population towns like Andrews and Crane, Texas.

I gave up. Just not my bag, and that will be my last attempt.
