I could have gone, but Volguy pulled a [penis] move & didn't invite me to go with him. In fact, I think he's revoked the friend card. I don't think I have seen him since the Vandy game or thereabouts.

Of course, had I gone I wouldn't have got my nearly one acre yard mowed, the property line/ house/ trees/ sidewalks sprayed with herbicide, the entire yard sprayed with Weed-be-gone, the yard fertilized, grass seed planted in bare spots, the trash hauled off, the green water in the kids' pool bailed out, or the wood frame of my deck sprayed with Demon (an insecticide that flat out hairlips bore bees). I've had a full day. I'm in pain & pooped. I guess that's what happens when you're coaching in tournaments every weekend then finally have a Saturday off.

Just got back. Josh Malone is a stud, everything else was meh. Defense was atrocious and there is no way Jalen Hurd barring injuries isn't carry some of the load next fall.

Any thoughts on QB, or still an enigma?

Maggitt was DE. I don't like that approach. But what the hell do I know.

He was expected to grow into a de when he was recruited

Guess my biggest concerns would be:

    Defense, OL and depth.

The fact that we allowed Worley and Dobbs to have 50 yd runs is alarming. Was like watching Auburn run all over us.

    Bright spots:

We are loaded at WR on 1st team. Depth would concern me a little there though. If Pig manages to make it back, that would be huge. On Malone, believe the hype, he is the WR that can stretch the field and catches almost everything. Very impressed.

I don't remember if it was Wolf or Helm, but there is huge upside there.

Hurd and Neal both looked alright and Justis Pickett looked pretty good too. Alden Hill trucked someone if I am not mistaken.

McNeill is awful. Worley out maneuvered him in the open field.

He will be buried after one week of fall practice.

    The LOS is a worry.
Dobbs and Worley looked the best of the qbs. Ferguson has the tools to be the best of the 3 but needs to clean up some stuff.
We have better backs than we ve had in a while.

We have better players But need a bunch more.

I like it. He's got unreal potential there as opposed to LB where we prolly saw him peak already. He's a SDE whose physicality can tear up a TE and quickness will beat a lot of guys off the snap.

If I'm Janceck, I take a page out of Seifert's 43 Elephant end several times a game with Maggitt.

Yeah, TK Jr, Gaulden, and Cortez McDowell better be ready to go.

I think with Maggitt's lack of speed, the move to DE will be a good one.

    Maggitt is fairly fast.

Not for an outside SEC LB. He's not AJ if I recall correctly, but...

I'm critical of Ferg but he got the short end of the stick a lot of times today. They blitzed the shit out of him and his personnel was usually Croom, Smith, and Blanc. He looked shook from the get go.

Maybe if he saw some actual game experience last year against the pissants we opened up with, he wouldn't be green in the spotlight.

He plays up really well but cannot play back.

What's the deal with Carr? I haven't heard much on him.
