I started paying closer attention to the Cards a few weeks ago and pulled them into my pit of despair

I definitely think they jumped the gun. I’d have waited until the end. Time will tell if they regret it. The roster needs work.

 

4-9 in the last 16 games against teams that made the playoffs. That will never work. And they had their chances.

As for Shildt, I would have waited, but he'll be fine.

You've also got 19M in salary coming off the books to go get an impact player. Just wish there was a way to get another 14.5M off the books too.

5th starter, transition to Reyes would be my best guess.
