    In football.

    Proceed to call me what you will. 9 wins is my story, and I'm sticking to it.

    Then your story features a breakout QB.

    It doesn't have to feature Jameis Winston. But it has to feature somebody better than Justin Worley.

    They don't have to win a Heisman, but they will have to be a top 5 QB in the conference.

    LSU = new qb
    UGA = new qb
    USCe = new qb
    UF = definitely a terrible QB
    Bama = new qb
    TAMU = new qb
    Mizzou == matty mauck is good
    Ole Miss = Dr. Bo (erratic but overall not terrible)

    I shouldn't have bothered listing TAMU and LSU as they are of no concern to us. But of the six conference teams we play that aren't definite wins (I'm counting vandy and UK as wins and I don't care what you have to say about that by god), four have new QBs.

    Next year we lose to Oklahoma, Bama, and Ole Miss, and win the rest.

    You can call me crazy, you can bookmark for later taunting, you can whatever you like. Me no care. I'm making bold predictions because the alternative is "I think we'll win between 7-8 games", which is -- with apologies to hat -- a milquetoast response. Methinks we should all go on record with predictions.

    Does this mean we win the east?

    Not necessarily. We'll have two losses in the conference. Mizzou or USCe could lose to us and still win the east. UGA is less likely as they always play Auburn, who I think will again be really good next year.

    So you are saying you agree or disagree?

    I disagree but not by much. He needs to be the second best QB in the East.

    This isn't to say that you have to have a better QB than your opponent to beat them -- I'm saying we'll beat Mizzou and I don't think our QB will be as good as Mauck -- but our main rivals have talent everywhere, and probably better overall talent than us*, so we'll need our QB to be better than their QBs.

    *Though I think the level of talent at UT is vastly understated.

    This is what I posted in a different thread about the 2014 season:

    And why I think Tennessee loses to Ole Miss:

    Even with a break out QB I think this is a 7 win team at the max and that is a stretch. Roster will be better but young and inexperienced. If we do have a Breakout QB it bodes very well for '15 and '16
