Of course it doesn’t, because it’s an absurd suggestion. But you already know this, when you say the same thing.
This. It’s not like the UK is going to cease to exist if they just pull up stakes. I doubt the US would let Britain fall too far down the toilet if they were to fall at all. The EU’s biggest nightmare is for Britain to step away and not suffer greatly for having done so. Once other nations see how it’s done, the EU is toast and that’s why they’re being such hard asses. They don’t have any other choice. It looks like they’re holding the cards right now but as soon as the divorce is finalized I think we’ll see what’s what.
We can see what’s what now - the EU tried to use a financial relationship to push a social agenda that many of its members didn’t want, and purely because they didn’t think that anyone would or could leave because of it. And so now, they’re hoping that the Brits don’t realize that the EU is a paper tiger, and not a very bright one, at that. Let’s see what ol’ Brexit Boris can do, once everyone is finally certain that the UK is set on an exit, and won’t be held hostage to having a deal in place before doing so.
specifically, what? I have lived in the UK. you're going to need to point me to the new socialist programs.
I’d say it’s more the feeling like they’re paying for other people’s stuff that’s different than them, than any one program. I’d say feeling like they’re sending their money to Greece and some other countries just rubs a lot of them the wrong way.
if we could replace half of our middle and lower class with highly educated individuals we could be like norway too.
