Not sure if this would fall on the OL coach, ST coach or both, but I got an interesting story from Daniel Hood on the radio yesterday. He said for the game-winning field goal against South Carolina in 2013 that he was expected to block Jadaveon Clowney. Seems a little nuts that we have a DT blocking him, although I know there was some thought that he could have also played OT or TE. Anyway, he was supposed to block Clowney. The guy inside Clowney was supposed to be blocked by the guy inside Hood. Unfortunately, the guy next to Hood blocked the wrong guy leaving Hood all alone against Jadaveon and another lineman. So basically, the biggest win of Jones's entire career hinged on a walk-on DT solo blocking two linemen, one of whom was a #1 overall draft pick.

Very often when you are in the gun. That is the big danger of being in the gun. The ball is way behind most of the offensive players and out of their line of sight, while on the defenders are staring right at it.

 

It seems to happen to Georgia a lot against Tennessee.
