Slashing the defense budget might be more easily done if we weren't singlehandedly shouldering the defense of other member nations of NATO. And Japan. And South Korea. And, well, everyone. But, both the cost of shit and the rampant waste in the military is just staggering. The worst part is that it's damned sure not being spent on the troops. I think it used to be that an E-3 and below qualified for food stamps.
The only way I could love this more is if it was Merkel, and he aimed lower. Check out his pulling Macron in for a handshake, like a child.
There was a back and forth as I understand it. Two separate settings/handshakes. Macron apparently won the first one and I think the Trump pull in was a later response. I could have it reversed, though. Silly machismo, imo.
It is silly machismo. The only difference, and it's a sizable one, is that Macron needs Trump a helluva lot more than Trump needs Macron.
I don't know if you can read French. The slogan of the meeting was "Nous sommes unis." If Trump doesn't believe that he wouldn't be there. The United States is Kobe Bryant, why not team up with Fisher and Shaq for some champioships? I really don't understand what the goal of the anti-NATO whining is. let's support those who love peace and freedom, and crush those who want dominion and slavery.
One of the few things that I have agreed with Trump on is that our NATO allies really need to start bellying up to the bar. But honey vs vinegar as the old saying goes. This blustering and chest thumping is idiotic.
