And Missouri smoke Memphis right after Memphis barely lost to UCF. Are they good? No. Should they be better, especially considering who they picked to be their OC? Absolutely. But your argument just straight up doesn’t hold water.
On the day we played - and on the only day and field where it matters - Auburn got its monkey ass whipped. Soundly beaten. By a first year coach. Who inherited an active dumpster fire. On your home field. With a coach in, what, his fifth year? When your great-great-great grandkids are lying on their death beds, Auburn will have still lost that game, and been bested by Tennessee. And that’s all that matters, or anyone will care, despite your silly rationalizations. Do you understand that this is the only set of relevant facts to be found in this discussion?

It’s not a nonsensical argument. 2017 Auburn was not a better team than 2017 Bama. 2017 LSU was not a better team than 2017 Auburn. 2013 Tennessee was not a better team than 2013 South Carolina. That Cavs championship team wasn’t better than the Warriors. The losing team in each of those scenarios is entitled to exactly zero trash talk or pride, but that doesn’t make it untrue.
If those exampled teams who played one another, which team won the game / series? That’s the better team. You’re trying to introduce a bunch of stupid nonsensical conjecture and personal opinion based on some comparatively unimportant fantasy that only exists in your mind into the metric of “better” and “worse” and want me to pretend that it matters, or is valid.
