UT played Louisville weeks ago and the 8th is still arguing about it

Halftime, up 45-40. Not a bad first half, but need to guard better. Too many open looks and we still have a tendency to run at shooters rather than closing them out. Williams is a load and they can't handle him. I suspect he'll get a lot more double teams in the 2nd half.

Refs make early season basketball unwatchable

 

Mack is a good coach, but I have yet to be impressed with any of our games this year.

 

Louisville is better than people think post Pitino. Still plenty of talent and Mack is a solid coach.

 

We're shooting 8% better from the field but almost tied.

 

We have little spurts but cant extend.

Bone has to hit more of these open looks.
I'm sending his man on all post entries. Hes not making enough to play him honest.

Finally cooling off a little bit and lead is double digits.

Still time and we're far from perfect, but we just seem consistent.

 

The mixed in zone was a good move

 

Good to see Turner getting back in to the groove shooting the 3 ball. Still has some bad shot selection at times but take the bad with the good he gives you.

 

This has been a nice response and the game was over with the technical, though, in fairness, Mack was right. Terrible call.

 

Yeah. Probably should be a no call there.

Good win. Havent seen an opponent hit so many contested shots as UL did. Only misses were when we left them open

 

1. I'll start by saying that Louisville is coached well. They played us extremely well for about 34 minutes. Shot the ball reall well and did what they had to do to give themselves a shot.

2. Good to see us close one out against a tough opponent. That's what good teams do.

3. Turner being back helps us tremendously. Does not seem to show too much rustiness after he finally got going.

4. Bone has to be better at knocking down open 3s. If he can do that, we'll be a top 5 team all year.

5. Scofield and Williams did what they do. Those 2 will be pretty consistent all year.

6. Alexander and Fulkerson both with solid games. Need both of them to play well against the big teams we play all year.

7. Played a great game offensively. Thought we didnt play our best defense in the first half, but better in the second half. On to the Jayhawks Friday, most likely.

 

An inferior team is going to have to play a great 40 minutes to beat us. I'm used to being on the other side of that.
