I don’t know, they put up like 450 yards. They’ve definitely improved as the season has progressed, although there’s still no excuse for this game to be close.
I know I’m in the minority here but I still see Vanderbilt as my most hated rival. More than Georgia, more than even Kentucky… bama and Florida are a separate conversation because neither have been competitive in the least since the initial rollout of the iPhone. Losing to Vandy in any sport, under any circumstances is unacceptable to say the least. They suck as a university, they suck as members of the SEC and they suck as human beings. I don’t know a single Vanderbilt alumni, fan or student that I would piss on if they were on fire… unless I could piss kerosene.
By golly, it was a swell season, and we were robbed of a National Championship, goshdarnit. Sorry for swearing.
Yeah, but the Natties were handed out pre-bowl game back then, and aTm some how vaulted us the last week. Both teams were 10-0, and we were unscored upon. I just don't get it. Probably had to do with who aTm played, or something.
Believe it or not but strength of schedule was the culprit. Even local newspapers gave Neyland a hard time for not scheduling tougher competition.
I want payback for the 1918 game: 1918: Vanderbilt 76, Tennessee 0 https://sports.yahoo.com/tennessee-vanderbilt-time-series-133031701.html
