Ask Detroit how wide open he was on the three he hit for the Spurs that kept the Pistons from repeating.
I think you're talking about Trazel Silvers. He didn't contribute much to those early teams but was athletic as heck. Funny thing is I don't remember Jennings being a great shooter on those teams; Pelphrey could shoot it. Rodney English was our high school librarian. Good guy. Marty Story awarded me a First Place ribbon for Frisbee Throw at field day. I could bomb a frisbee; too bad it's not an Olympic sport.
Yep. That's him. He was a freshman in '90-'91 with me. Mister flirted with being the first guy in NCAA history to shoot 40% from 3. I think he wound up being 39.something% if I'm not mistaken. I'll see what I can find.
You may very well be right. I just remember the assist totals, and that picture of him and Greg Dennis with the classic car at the VA.
I was waaaay off. He shot 59% from three. Almost broke 60%. I thought I sounded off, but I'm not a basketball guy. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keith_Jennings_(basketball)
An article in SI during the '90-'91 season. He was shooting 73% from three point land at the time of the writing of the article (15 games into the season- 14-1 record). Also talks about him probably breaking the NCAA assist record. Good read. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/vault/article/magazine/MAG1118790/
I blocked Talford in pickup game once. Fast break and he went up for a layup. Double clutched and I threw that junk.hard when he brought the ball down to his ankles which was even with my head.
Haha. My clim to fame in baseball is that I threw Shorty Adams from Scince Hill out trying to steal 2nd. Twice in one game. I think he was caught stealing like 4 times that year. He must have had a pulled hammy or something.
