That's just the modem. Since I only get 100 mbs, and Comcast only offers up to 300 mbs in my area, I got the first one over a year ago. Has already paid for itself. This is the router I use. https://www.amazon.com/TP-Link-Arch...ref=sr_1_4?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1488948350&sr=1-4 Here's another modem that's highly rated and even cheaper than the one I originally posted: https://www.amazon.com/TP-Link-343M...ncoding=UTF8&refRID=DNYNG5Z67FNS7PVQQ92K&th=1 I can play online while my wife streams Netflix without a hitch. I'll usually be streaming music too.
I've never had great luck with the combo gateways, especially with the wireless coverage. Even when I was in an apartment, the coverage was spotty at best. I'd rather pay a little more and get 2 devices that do a top notch job at their respective task than get one that does the 2 tasks adequately. That router I linked is actually a lightning deal on Amazon today, so it's $15 off.
Makes sense and I also see that with the gateway I'm using now and past gateways. I'll just pony up the extra coin. Thanks.
