And can only use it 5 times. It can take you to any 5 sporting events you wish to see, just as long as 2 of them are Tennessee related.

What 5 events do you travel through time to witness.

89 UT/Auburn would be up there for me too, so would 82 UT/Bama, so much so that I am changing it and listing it.

I approached mine with a little bit more thought to my fanhood. Miracle on Ice and Ali/Frazier certainly for historical significance would be huge

If you don't mind, Card, I am going to copy yours, without shame and in its entirety. The 1986 Masters made me fall in love with golf and actually learn how to play it. One of the single greatest sporting moments in my young (was 16) adulthood.

And I had already decided in the 1982 Bama game.

Ali/Frazier I or III? Both were monster fights and incredible build ups. And I will say I believe the Thrilla in Manilla was the death knell of boxing. It was never the same after that.

And last but not least, I'll cheat and go into the future to Tennessee's next national championship. Or SEC championship. Or win over Alabama. Or Florida.

I was there. My first one ever. I can still see the last 15 laps every time I look at turn 1. It's only now that I look back on it do I realize the significance of everything I saw that day. Perhaps the best TV intro to any 500 I've ever seen. Still gives me chills. I'm glad Paul is back this year.

I'll have to think about this list.

    2. Tennessee vs. North Carolina 1946 - One of Neyland's greatest teams beats Charlie Justice's Tar Heels on a last minute Walter Slater punt return.
    3. Tennessee vs. Florida 1992 - 'its a downpour!"
    4. Bulls Celtics 1986 - Jordan scores 63 points on one of history's great teams.
    5. Any game in the last 2 weeks of DiMaggio's hitting streak.

You should YouTube the fights. There are plenty of documentaries on them and the first fight was a huge affair. Their second fight was so-so, mostly because Frazier had lost the title before this fight to Foreman. And the third, the Thrilla in Manilla, was the epic fight of the ages. Well worth the research.
