Always bad to hear about anything harming honeybees. They're in enough trouble as is.

If the bees go, our food supply goes. The food supply goes, we start eating each other. If we start eating each other, we're Walking Dead zombies.

Seriously, you're right. Another mite has devastated the honeybees. They're just starting to stabilize in order to recover. Another parasite might take them beyond the tipping point. That would suck for humans not to mention the bees.

Exactly, Jay. I was astounded when I learned the level of devastation that could/would result from loss of honeybees. Nightmarish.

We need to genetically engineer some Frenchized honeybees to counter the Africanized bees. The new strain would only work 20 hours/week, stay drunk half the time- eat the other half & retreat rather than attack when disturbed. We'd have to inhibit their scent glands though. That or somehow make the use of deodorant, like water, essential to their survival.

Didclaimer: This post is purely in jest, IP. Sort of. I'm aware of France's full history.
