Re: "the palace coup" as stated in the story. Since Majors's ousting in Nov '92, Dr. Johnson didn't ever shy away from taking the blame. I believe that Johnson, without naming names, signaled that there were a lot of important people from all sides that thought Majors had become too big and they were willing to use their influence and political capital to put the gears in motion at the first opportunity that came along. This is completely different than Fulmer in '08 where there had been a lengthy vendetta against Fulmer by Hamilton.
There are some people, I don’t do this with everyone, but I hear their voice in my head when I read quotes; Johnny Majors is one of those people

That article about college football players recognizing the power they now have and learning when and when not to use it is outstanding. How did we get a writer like this in Knoxville? He is a gem.
Everyone is worried about losing Pruitt to Alabama, I'm scared Ubben will leave for another college town
cant read the article but please share. Right now I’m thinking of buying the little 8 ounce bottles of water
He bought a Roundup weed sprayer, fills it with water, and managers walk around and spray water in the kids mouth.
As long as I don't mix it up with the sprayer that I keep the bleach and water in to clean off dummies and footballs.
Had a mom giving me a heads up on her son. He's ADHD and his dad doesn't make him take his meds the weekends he's with him. She said he is something else when he's not on them. I told her if he ends up being a linebacker that he will not take them on game days then. She laughed.
