Sloppy, as to be expected Guarantano is Guarantano The receivers are pretty good To'oto'o is a stud Banks had 30 yards of penalties against him, that can't continue Hell of a punt to win it Elijah Simmons is a large man The dline has a lot of bodies DeAndre Johnson is a pretty good pass rusher
Johnson was tearing it up tonight on the DL. If Pruitt called for that punt strategy in the TO, hat off to you, sir.
More overloaded left side runs, please Velus Jones exceeded my expectations Brandon Johnson deserves a lot of praise
Sham is a pretty important piece that was a scratch, Slaughter got picked on. Some of it was the blitz packages Pruitt called too, it left holes
Offense is much improved and honestly better than I expected. Guarantano didn’t do anything stupid, he just missed too many open receivers. We’re not going to go 1/8 on 3rd and short/medium every week. Did a great job staying ahead of the chains. Defense is a real concern. This was supposed to be the strength of the team, and Mike Bobo made them look bad. I know we had a true freshman making his first start in the secondary, but in this of all seasons, you have to be able to compensate for missing guys. Anybody but To’oto’o we should be able to replace and still play well.
Velus looks like an SEC player, which is great. Need to figure out that Guarantano isn't Joe Burrow, nor will he ever be, and adjust our offensive identity accordingly. Need to find a more consistent pass rush and tackling, however given the circumstances I understand why those were problem areas tonight. It needs to be fixed soon, though.
I think that was a "hedging bets" scenario. Pruitt must have thought it better to leave openings for their untalented WRs than give up any semblance of a pass rush
I think they'll be alright. The surprise of the evening for me was Kenneth George. George has the wheels to run with anyone but he doesn't make plays on the ball.
Fant looks good as a threat at TE. He was a bigger hs wr without great speed and had a couple knee issues. Ty and Gray are fine. We miss Gooden and missed middleton and sham. Lb needs help Secondary seemed like pieces and parts everywhere. Where was Burrel? Did Keyshown Lawrence play?
ILBs are having trouble looking for work in pass coverages. Couple of our secondary busts were misalignment when USCe shifted or traded. Those are easy fixes.
