Don’t worry, I’m not sticking around, but I do want to send my condolences to y’all and all those close to Hat. The biggest Tennessee message board legend of all time. RIP man. We went toe to toe often, but I never held any ill will. Towards anyone really. Hope y’all are doing great.
I still have a partial bottle of Jack you left behind at a tailgate... I see it as a keepsake now. I'll will it to my kids when I'm gone.
its been cool to see old names. more than likely i battled with all at some point. Who cares. It's always been an outlet for me after being dad and work and life all the time. I don't post anywhere else. I don't tweet or IG. Wish all would come back. Everybody's getting old. Hell I'm 51 and hear sad news about someone it seems about every other day. You all should parlay this into a Hatvol tailgate, collect a little cash and give it to one of the groups he supported.
My nephew loves to bass fish but was recently introduced to walleye on a trip home to East Tennessee. Trying to describe them reminded me of you. Hope you didn’t catch all of them before he went
I’m fairly certain I wouldn’t have survived TOOS due to my opinion of Peyton except for the fact that Hat had already firmly established himself in that same boat and I could just tag along. He was a pleasure to discuss baseball with, especially the A’s. Those initial coaching searches got ugly though . Hopefully he’s up there watching some legendary classic wrestling matches.
He had no problem holding an inflammatory, unpopular opinion. And indeed, it made it easier to speak freely when someone else was willing to attract fire regularly.
They've been safe the last 2 summers. Couldn't go a time due to health reasons, but they'd better watch out. I'll be back with a vengeance at some point. Hope he caught some up. They're deeelicious.
