Depends on what level you’re talking about. NFL it’s just different now due to the bear front and just how good DL and linebackers are now, so running plays got simpler and less of a focus due to having to be able to pass to beat a bear or double eagle team. College is about recruiting and selling tickets, and the fullback trap isn’t sexy, so that takes it always as a base play. But yeah trap doesn’t work as well from shotgun unless you’re willing to use your qb as the full back. Running game in general isn’t as good from the gun/pistol. The plays hit quite a bit faster from under center and there’s more misdirection. It’s starting to turn though under center and gap plays are becoming the new thing again
Every year I toss out the idea of us trying it, and every year my o line coach looks at me like I'm crazy.
I thought he was actually going to be good after that last season. Heupel really is a miracle worker.
What are safeties supposed to do on passes over the middle or on post routes when the QBs leave their receivers out to dry? Just not hit them? Bullshit penalty in the Lions Vikings game where the Minnesota QB left his wr out on a [uck fay]ing line and drew a penalty.
Don't know why they thought they needed to fix something that wasn't broken. Those unis are classics and are 10x sharper than the redesign they typically rock now. Those old school MIA unis clashing against the classic Cowboy look is football uniform porn for dudes who love sports.
Congrats Titans fans, you may get rid of Tanne and Vrabel in the same year and get a good enough pick to get some OL help It doesn’t get much better than that
