So? Let him do it when he's hired. You don't freeze another position because of some arbitrary order you've decided as to who gets hired first. If you've found the guy for AD hire him immediately.

Art Briles name has been conspicuously not mentioned.

 

He's good at what he does. Hires talented coaches and coordinators to manage the football, he motivates, mascots, and closes the deal with recruits. Recognizes his weaknesses and hires to offset them. Should have been Butch's blueprint.

 

Not conspicuous at all.

 

Somebody will hire him. And they'll have a few weeks of bad publicity and criticism....and then they'll have a few years of really good football.

 

I don't have a problem with them hiring a chancellor first.

 

I do if they've identified the next AD and are back to the drawing board as far as our next chancellor.

 

If you have the ad you want and ready to go, pull the trigger. This chancellor search will take a bit it sounds like.

 

Not to mention slow down the AD hiring process once the chancellor is hired.

In all seriousness, what is the difference between the President and the Chancellor?

 

The president is over the entire UT system. The chancellor is over his particular campus i.e. Knoxville or Martin or wherever

Chancellors may eat boogers. Presidents, not usually so much. That's all I've got.
