Florida Hires Jim McElwain

Great.

 

I don't know anything about the guy, except that I guess he like to sling it around a lot.

 

They fired a saban disciple and replaced him with a saban disciple. This could be the end for Foley.

 

Also it is costing them 7,5 million for Jim and 5.3 million for will. Lol at their negotiating skills.

 

I think this could be trouble. In three years, he turned around Colorado State pretty dramatically and that's usually the sign of a good coach.

 

Just looking at the stats, his teams show good balance and convert on 3rd down and have improved year by year.

 

The mountain west has really been terrible the last couple of years. Have a pulse and you will win 9 games.

 

They didn't have a pulse when he got there. They do now. Good coaches make the best of their situation and that's what he did.

 

He's better than Muschamp. Who knows what will happen when he gets here.

 

The turnaround was impressive no matter how it is spun. He'll easily win at least 8 games a season next year. I don't know what his ceiling is though.

 

I'm ok with this hire.

Foley played it surprisingly safe.

It's getting much harder these days to make a home run type hire. Too much turnover going on.

 

Which makes me hate Dave Hart and Jimmy Cheek even more.

 

Those 2 clowns were in a much better position to make a good hire and completely ****ed it up. They suck.

 

Then go undefeated. Beat a top 25 team. Etc

 

Thank God they didn't get Art Briles or Chip Kelly.

Looks decent, but track record on Saban guys is not so impressive. May be a solid coach, but doesn't seem deserving of the Florida job.

 

Similar to the MWC, he won't see many of these in the SEC East.
