Their hires were universally cheered but have shit the bed. Chip Kelly is still early in his tenure. He can still turn it around. Harbaugh and Herman look like duds. Must be pretty soul crushing for those fans.
Harbaugh almost had his team in the playoff two years ago. I’m not quite ready to give up on him, but he has been underwhelming.
It was understandable that they took a big step back last year. Not so understandable that their offense was so inept yesterday. It seemed like they moved the ball well at times, but continued to fail.
Meyer inherited an elite team. Harbaugh replaced Brady Hoke. Harbaugh should be doing better, but I think Michigan should give him all the time in the world. They won’t get a better coach.
Harbaugh has made me rethink the whole throw the bank at a guy. It has worked for two schools: Alabama and tOSU. Where else has it worked?
I understand your feelings here, but if he keeps winning, we are both going to have to get over being sold on Franklin.
I wouldn’t say James Franklin falls in that category. That is more of a Urban Meyer from Utah to Florida without the Championship yet kind of move. He wasn’t a no-brainer nationally elite coach. Petersen is much much closer to that in his move to Washington - though because of where he had been some may have had questions - it was cleat the guy was elite.
Harbaugh still surprises me. I think Texas hasn’t realized that there problems are bevause Texas, not because of Brown or Strong or Herman. Kelly has time before we can really make a call on his return.
Aren’t enough elite guys to throw the bank at, really. I’m surprised Harbaugh hasn’t been better, but he’s not going anywhere. And I think he’ll eventually win the Big in his time there.
I would rather roll the dice on a Pruitt than be stuck with a Jimbo Fisher. Saban, Meyer, Patterson and Peterson are the only guys I'd break the bank for. If Bob Stoops decided he didn't want to be retired, hand him a blank check. I don't think Dabo can recreate what he's got at other places.
I do. Maybe not to the level of Clemson but high. He can hire a good staff anywhere and his players will run through a wall for him whatever jersey they're wearing. JMO
