Weird how he was able to gain any yards at all considering there were two walk-ons on the offensive line.
Watch the center and the right guard. They didn't win many one on ones but they at least got a stalemate. They rarely got beat. The only game they were outclassed was when Mt Cody wasn't taking snaps off.
Probably should thank Fulmer for this one. Had he used Hardesty up against Bama in '07, he never could have done that stuff two years later. Just another reason why Phil wins a minimum of 11 games in 2009 if we'd have let him come back. -utgibbs
I watched that shitshow at my in-laws. They have seen me lose my mind over football three times, the 2005 Alabama Tennessee game, the 2007 Alabama Tennessee game and the 2010 UAB game.
This is the run I remember the most from him (#9 Cal came to Knoxville). Start it at the 1:20:00 mark.
Yes, JG, I agree that having average, or even slightly below average, players on your offensive line isn't necessarily a major cause for concern.
I like Hardesty, but I liked the rb's UT had when I was growing up: Little Man, Garner, etc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rCNNNkasmaA
So.....the last time we had a winning record it was with two walk-ons on the line. These are the facts, and they are not in dispute.
