Why does UK get to play on Tuesday while we play on Wednesday during both of the weeks we play them? Does that extra day of rest make much of a difference?
Every team that plays Kentucky on Saturday, plays on Wednesday before. Kentucky always plays on Tuesday, too, IIRC.
Playing the Tue night game means one less day of rest from the Saturday game. This has been UKs Tue night games since league play started in reverse order. Ark, @Mizz, LSU, USCe, @Vandy, Miss St., @UGA, A&M Their toughest game (LSU) was at home, the rest of their road games were against bottom feeders. Pretty easy schedule coming off their shortest rest time. And both their games against us come with an extra day of rest in between than we got too. May be reaching a little with all this but it is interesting.
Yeah, I'm not sure how much it matters, but it's hard to deny that the timing of all of it is a bit... odd...
Saturday on left, Tuesday games on right. Two games against teams with winning records on Tuesdays. 7 games against teams with winning records on Saturdays. Short rest games against the dog shit teams. Extra day of rest for the important ones. (3 & 9 respectively if counting the remaining games as well)
Tennessee is 3rd in the country in FG%, but 101st in 3 %. We're also 4th in assists, 2nd in assists/TO, 15th in FT %. A surprising stat is that we're 4th in blocks, since we don't really have a guy I'd consider a dominant shot blocker. We just spread them out among the entire team apparently.
Alexander is actually our leading shot blocker with 1.8/gm. Williams is 2nd with 1.5. Then Fulkerson (.7), Pons(.5), and Schofield(.5).
Mississippi State is a classic let down game with one day less rest. Gotta be ready to go, the Bulldogs have been playing well.
Q Spoon is a great player. They're point guard is decent. But we seem to match up with them a lot better. I'm more worried about AU. If they're hitting 3s itll be a tough game. Should still win though.
