Looks like Columbia is losing its battle. https://www.cnn.com/business/live-news/university-protests-palestine-04-30-24/index.html
This is of course what everyone wants. "Look, they're destroying stuff! They're violent!" "Look, here come the police! They're attacking us and oppressing us!" And at the end of the day, nothing will have changed.
And allegedly, a large number of the protestors at least at VCU are not even students. That is irritating.
Get off your ass and get on a bus and drive to DC and protest there, in an orderly and respectful way. What these colleges and mayors have to do with anything is beyond me.
Violence has no business in any protest, whether it be Jan 6; pro-Palestine; South Africa; etc. or if the violence is from the protesters or the LEO. Hurting one another does not solve a problem, it only prolongs or exacerbates it.
Nothing better than seeing MTG getting rendered powerless. Her only card was just taken. Kudos to the Dems for not allowing her to throw fits if she doesn't get her way. https://www.cnn.com/2024/04/30/politics/house-democrats-speaker-johnson/index.html
There are differences in opinions and different values, and there is someone who has no interest in doing the job.
Sadly being someone who will "stand up for their beliefs at all costs" are quite popular in some areas.
I'm sure it will be all about the swamp and this and that and RINOs and swamp, and Democrats, etc etc etc.
I had heard whispers that the dems would not let Johnson get punished for simply bringing hot-button things to the floor, and I am glad they followed through on that principle.
