The calamity that is UTs OL

I can buy youth to an extent.
I can buy older inexperience to an extent.

But at some point even if they are not talented at all, they should improve with fair to middlin instruction.

How bad is the situation when 6 games into the year you re going the wrong way?

Horrendous is not strong enough.

 

I have no analog for this. Never seen an OL any worse relative to the competition, never seen the total lack of improvement/regression either.

 

So they were no better against lesser competition today?

 

One would have to be a fool to think giving up 5 sacks to an FCS opponent is not a cluster****.

Over/under is 10 sacks next week. They're gonna get somebody killed. If so, Butch should be charged as an accessory to manslaughter.

 

2010 Oline was statistically as bad as this year's Oline. That link had 4 future NFL'ers on it as well.

 

Think I can confidently say these 5 won't produce 4 NFL'ers.

 

I don't think anyone besides Robertson even has a chance right now.

 

Worley is going to get North killed or break his back with some of those throws that allow the defender to stick North.

The only thing I can come up with is that they are soft. That's the worst insult you can give an o line, but I am afraid it's true with these guys. They are just soft.

I also kind of think they aren't bright either.

And I also question Mahoney.

 

When you look that bad against the worst team on your schedule half way thru the season its a lot deeper than youth and and lack of experience.

After going back and reading some stuff in Mahoney, y'all know he's not getting fired right? Remember Hart lobbied for Butch to keep Pittman but Butch said he felt more comfortable with Don. He'll probably go down with the ship.

I don't think our rushing game could develope any slower. It might work if the qb was a threat but as is nothing holds the defensive flow.
