Fwiw, in 4 seasons Gus has failed to win 8 games one time. If he got to play straight up trash bowl opponents he'd have two 9 win seasons like Butch to go with a 12 win season.

Also, in the past three years Butch is 9-3 against Mizzou, UK, Vandy and USCe. Pick any four teams you want from the west in the past three years. You think Butch can go over .500 against them?

Again, none of this is to comment on how good or bad Gus is, simply that you are freaking high or just trolling in saying that they're the same.

 

I'd take Malzahn over Butch. Would be a lot easier if he didn't seem so slimy. I'd prefer neither.

 

Being a fan of UT and Auburn is like being a fan of the USA and the USSR back in the day.

Imagine if you grew up being a UT fan and then went to Auburn. Now imagine that the days of the two being considered rivals ended before your college football memory begins. Plus, the two schools share common enemies. I don't see what's so hard to get. If they still played every year then yeah you can't reasonably pull for both, but that's not the case.

Bullshit. Everyone I knew growing up were UT fans with UT fan parents and never was Auburn hate really even a thing let alone as pronounced as it is on here. We were raised to hate Alabama, Florida and Georgia. And I hated LSU from the jump because I was at the 2001 SEC championship.
