we aren't, right now. China and Russia have been sowing distrust in our electoral system, and we've come together to fall into their trap.
I don't agree. Folks from my old unit that are still active, officers and enlisted, have been privately vocal that they don't care about blue states. The blues aren't chomping at the bit to save the reds, either. If we truly divide that, there will be zero care.
The blue vs. red states thing is kind of stupid. Plenty of each kind live in every state. This is another reason why scrapping the EC would be hugely beneficial. States won't be summarily dismissed as one thing or the other.
The blue state vs red state thing is baked into the states rights thing. If I'm not an equal person in your state, why should I want to defend it?
Wasn’t Ocasio-Cortez talking about not hiring and/or “holding people accountable” or some such who worked for Trump? Imagine thinking anybody gives a shit.
I think that is an old way of thinking and not true anymore. Populations have really spread out. New York is #4 in population now, not #2. 1. California (11% of US pop) 2. Texas (9% of US pop) 3. Florida (6.5% of US pop) 4. New York (5.9% of US pop) And right now, 3-5 states "decide" our President already. I am under no illusions that the EC is ever going to go away, as our Constitution is very hard to amend. All the states have to do is what Nebraska and Maine do, and that is assign proportional EC votes based on state votes vs All or Nothing.
America was doing ok before the pandemic. Economically, illegal immigration under better control, job records, including for minorities, unemployment at alltime low, people making more money, interest rates down so more could afford homes, laws changing jailtime for minor drug offenses, standing up to China, NK, calling out lifetime politicians who have manipulated voters for years or decades, and the list goes on and on. And lets not act like the protesting and rioting left who tried to oust him for 4 years was all about America. Not even close. It was about hate and didn't get our way so now we are going to [itch bay] and whine for 4 years or until we do. You asked...
I think you mean the people that live there. People should be free to live where they want, and not have their choice made worthless.
What about the farmer that gets 1 vote and has 6,000 acres of crops that can't vote but feed those that can? Give the corn a voice!
