Considering he was given Blake Bell and Trevor Knight to work with, I'd say getting that last offense to 30 a game was a miracle.
36.4 per game the year he was fired. Still not sure who was calling plays as he and Norvell were Co Ocs. Evidently the Baylor game Shepherd and Knight got hurt and then they were blown out 40-6 by Clemson, so somebody had to go.
As long as some there isn't mass transfers we should have a really fun offense to watch next year IMO. We have a lot of young talent on offense at all positions. "IF" OL play can improve we can at least be exciting to watch.
yeah, and people forget Stoops ran Venables out of town back then too. And Venables has gone on to be the foundational piece in Clemson’s rise from good to great. He’s been a dominant DC for a decade there. I can’t get myself too worked up about Stoops bouncing Heupel.
Yeah, there are a lot of pieces on offense that didn’t live up to their potential under Pruitt, and most of them seem to be staying. Defense could be really scary (in a bad way), although it’s not like it was good this year either.
Heupel may have been the problem, but Jay Norvell, the other co-oc hasn't had the success since they were both let go as Heupel has had. Stoops had to fire him, that led to Riley being hired and Stoops calling it a career
Will take that over a defense that’s focused on forcing third and long and then leaving the pocket clean and the middle of the field undefended
And we haven’t technically hired one yet. Danny making the hires and trying to announce them all at once. He’s a douche
Steele tried to take the Auburn job from Malzahn, he had been setting that up for 2 years. I don't blame anyone that doesn't want Steele around
