He didn't say economically better, he said inflation is coming down (which is a correct statement) and then he went on to say it’s now lower in America than any other major economy in the world. That last part is incorrect. Overall we are not in terrible shape right now.

The economy is in a really weird place too. it’s being held together by a lot of federal spending that isn’t sustainable or getting much bang for the buck either. that’s why even though some of the data is good on the surface level, so many think it’s in such a bad place
Also the dramatic supply in the money supply handed out to businesses and people around the globe and here at home, was the driving force behind inflation. Covid and Russia Ukrainian war added to it but the main drivers.

I don’t have time to pull these numbers and quantify how bad they are right now but all are bad: -Personal savings rate -Credit card debt -Home affordability -Number of people losing full time jobs and replacing with multiple part time jobs Yes, these are at consumer level and not the broader economy. That said, “stonks go up so economy is good” is dumb and not what the Democrats are supposed to be about.

Not saying that you said it, but it is the party line right now. And don’t get me wrong I’m not blasting Democrats on this per se. Politically I’m not sure they have a better play. Where we are right now was a long time in the making. In general, I just don’t like commentary on the economy that ignores or mostly ignores the experiences of average Americans, from Republicans or Democrats.
