just got a phone call that said eddie george was on 104.5 in nashville saying that if jalen hurd wanted to be a superstar on the nfl level that he should switch to safety because he will probably out grow nfl running back size. tifwiw
That's not what he said at all. He said safeties make more money and he should switch now so he can get paid.
This year may be an outlier, but RBs just aren't getting paid like they used to, and they've always had the shortest careers.
More teams are going to a spread offense and using the two-back approach. If he can be a receiving threat out of the backfield, that will help immensely.
It's been trending that way for awhile now. The rules are turning the NFL into a passing league and the specialization of running backs make them expendable. What will happen is defenses will go small and fast to defend the spread teams and ten years from now an OC will start running the HB dive out of the I-formation and offenses will follow.
Loved the fact that the year he won we got to shut him down in the Citrus Bowl. If my foggy memory hasn't failed me again.
Encountering those fans while attending that game, where it piss-poured the ENTIRE time we were there, was the genesis of my burning, immeasurable & eternal hatred for all things Ohio State.
