This is a simple fact. You will have a percentage of defectors no matter if you sign 25 five stars or 25 2 stars. Some people just cannot hack it, are not happy, or feel like they are too far down on the depth chart for "their talent" and want to move to greener pastures.

Best of luck to them, may they find what they are looking for. Frees up space for more 4 and 5 stars to come in.

 

Plus it gives you a solid opportunity for tough-talk one-liners.

This seems to be Butch's recruiting strategy based on the last couple years, fill the class early then start recruiting over guys "upgrading" closer to signing day. I'm not sure I like that strategy but it seems everyone is trending that way as teams get more commitments early.

I think they got the best one in Bussey but they need one more and hopefully Love is the guy. If they miss on Love, possibly Vaughn out of Nashville is an option though I'd had preferred Reid in that case.

 

When we add Bryce Love we will have the type of speed that hasn't been seen in the Tennessee backfield since Coker was booted.

 

If kids are going to "commit" and then change teams in January, the coaches have to do it that way. And it is not new if you ask me. Nothing new under the sun.

 

Rumor on VN is that Hendrix may have had a change of heart.
