With the rules of the game as they are, I am not sure I would draft a running back before round 3. They don't last long enough, they don't get the ball enough, and the pass is king.
I agree with you. I don't think Elliott is on Gurley's level. I was just responding to the idea that you should never take a RB that high because they don't change the game. Gurley definitely changes the game.
He's going to be an elite running back for 5 or 6 years. There's really no guesswork, just hope he stays healthy

You've got the problem of predictability, too, though. There are a handful of elite backs, but identifying them before they take an NFL snap is different than recognizing them after they've been in the league a year.
