I think the lump sum is around 325 million so take 35% of that off from the get go... You would get roughly $211,250,000
That would be one hell of a scam. They draw the balls on live TV, I'm not sure how they would rig it.
I don't think it is rigged at all. I think people genuinely can't fully comprehend the tiny, tiny odds of getting the exact numbers even when hundreds of thousands of tickets have been bought.
1:177,000,000 odds You pick 5 numbers, 1-56 plus a "powerball" 1-46. My statistics abilities are extremely rusty but 56*55*54*53*52*46=21,085,384,320 How does that make the odds 1:177,000,000?
They are showing on the news here in Bama, all the people crossing the Georgia line buying tickets. Its amazing to see how many. Coming home, is usually very peaceful and little traffic, but not today it was bumper to bumper east bound. No I didn't buy one.
Could be wrong, but I think that's just the probability of getting the five numbers in any order (plus the correct powerball). Have to adjust for the numbers being in sequence somehow.
Tell you what, if I win I am buying luxury boxes. Also, I will need legal counsel and an accountant. And Vegas with 200 of my closest friends is going down too. The most likely scenario involves me winning two dollars and buying a Bud tall boy
I spent $6 on tickets today. It's the first time in my 26 years I've ever bought any. Hopefully it's the best $6 I've ever spent. I believe I would pay all my immediate family's debt off and then tell them it's up to them to keep it that way, next I'd be in Mr. Hart's office with a blank check.
