The problem with leach is unlike briles or sumlin, he doesn’t run the ball and when he does do it’s out of the vertical set which is both dumb and hard to recruit offensive lineman who want to do it.
The two systems aren’t even remotely close to being the same. Draw and Zone is all of the running game in the air raid.
I do think the air raid can work for championship football, but it’s the briles version (for lack of a better word) that works, not the throw it 50 times a game version leach runs.
no he's not, but if the best can lose games they shouldn't and be embarrassed, its going to happen to UT's coach, and we aren't getting a Saban or Urban.
Yup. And they take no real practice time on the run either and it’s all basic stuff. That’s why it gets shut down by decent dlines. That being said, I do think leach is brilliant, I just think his offense is far better for taking low talent teams to 8-4 than high talent teams to 12-0. I very much doubt he’ll be a disaster. Actually my concern is his floor is so high it’s going to be hard to fire him if he doesn’t win big.
I agree but he’s a good coach. If you can recruit in the top ten, your team should be built around smashing and power
