Pruitt, in his mind, got burned by an outsider (Helton) now he’s going to keep it in-house (Friend).

    Rainsville, Alabama mentality.

I like that we are willing to pony up the cash.

Ponying up cash is one thing, but you shouldn't pay Ruth's Chris prices for a Western Sizzlin' resume. Paying elite money to Will Friend is insanity.

I fully expect this to be what happens.

    I agree.

Just figured I'd throw it out there since its UT. Nothing is out of the realm with us.

I think Pruitt knows where the defense will get with better players. It just seems odd to put your career on the line for a "Friend" you could have put there from the beginning.

That wouldn't be a promising career move for Pruitt.

CSU's offense was not nearly as bad as I thought it would be under Friend. Unless Bobo was calling the plays.

2015: 74th in points per play and 44th in yards per play
2016: 19th in points per play and 15th in yards per play
2017: 38th in points per play and 17th in yards per play

    Will Friend didn’t call plays.

I don’t think Pruitt is that dumb.

I'm pretty close to saying pull the trigger on Osovet and call it a day, even if I do think you have to kick the tires on Kingsbury,

Joe Osovet is the whitest human on earth. Kinda looks like Powder. Not that there's anything wrong with it.

    Could be an awesome choice.

The skeptic in me thinks this way...the dude is pushing 50 and just now got out of the juco ranks? If he’s so respected and recognized as this offensive guru, why hasn’t anyone else hired him? You can have a good offensive philosophy and still be a terrible play caller. He was interviewed for the WR coach position last year and was passed up for David Johnson. Doesn’t make sense that he wasn’t good enough to be a position coach, now he’s your offensive coordinator?

    Negative Nancy over here.

It's definitely a reach hire and one that we aren't in a position to make right now.

I’d assume we didn’t contact Kingsbury. Doesn’t seem like a philosophical fit

I don't think he would get much attention for that reason.

A guy that majors in the RPO game doesn't excite me that much.

The SEC is built around man coverage, and that's how you stop the RPO game.

So, besides Tenny who here would be on board with Dan Enos as long as Hurts came along with him (which is what is being reported would happen if we get Enos) ?

I really want Pruitt to succeed here. Hell, I want anyone to succeed here at this point but it's starting to feel like we are, once again, going to be looking for another head football coach in 2 years.
