Just got home and what in the actual hell is this?

 

He’s good

 

It's a regular postseason affair for Barnes and Tennessee teams.

 

I don’t care about this tournament, but this performance is at least a little concerning

 

We’ve generally done pretty well in the SECT under Barnes.

 

I don't know why they are talking about Tennessee and Carolina now. We're cooked today and I don't see how this team does anything without DK going apeshit in the NCAAs.

 

Total randos just doing spin moves through the lane and throwing in no look layups

 

Hopefully we’re flipping the script this year

 

Almost got the 8 second call on that inbounds. Unlucky.

Yeah, we are getting embarrassed. Choose your reason. I won't argue about any of them.

 

Yeah we’re a 2 at this point. If we show up, we can get things done in the tournament, but we have to at least attempt to play defense, which we haven’t appeared to do the last few possessions.

 

won it for first time in 40 years 2 years ago but I guess that one doesn’t count

 

My hot take ... this late in season, this game is on the players. They are getting out played.

 

Well let's hope we get a good 2 seed draw

 

Ms st is better than us. Every player goes 1 v 1 and we can’t stop any of them and we can’t take any of them 1 v 1. They look so much faster we look like a .500 team.

 

If we play like this, it won't matter who we draw in NCAA.

 

Bellyaching aside, I see some very, very real concerns with this team which have cropped up a number of times this year. Three mains ones stand out, among a few more.

1. Getting abused off the dribble. Happening like a complete sieve today, but it's been an issue for a long time with quick guards abusing us on straight drives.
2. The inside is very problematic, especially against any decent big man. Soft defensively and unable to score on offense.
3. The offense outside of Knecht is very pedestrian and spotty.

I just don't see how these three problems can be overcome on a more than one game basis against upper level teams. If we actually get past the Sweet 16, I will be pleasantly surprised.

 

It doesn’t matter who you play. If you shoot 26% from the field and 13% from 3 you ain’t beating anyone.
