Why is it that, given the choice of making an obviously good hire or an obviously shitty one, we always, ALWAYS go with the shitty hire?
Any guy who meets the bare minimum standard of decency as a football coach can go 4-4/3-1 at Tennessee every damned year. That should tell you exactly how terrible the last two hires have been.
We may have just gotten back into the football business.... we'll see. Not super thrilled about Pruitt, but I don't hate it either.
Pruitt isn't wasting much time. He's hired most of his staff within 48 hours and he's recruiting his ass off.
he's also already told a couple of commits they aren't good fits. Any db under 6'0 seems to be off the list.
I'm actually surprised. I was sure Steele was going to get the gig and the program would finally be killed off once and for all. Now, I'm pretty excited about the future. It could all still go straight to the toilet but the way Pruitt is working so far I really feel good about the future. It won't be immediate, but we stand a good chance to be back in the national conversation by year 2 or 3. That never would have happened if the status quo had been maintained.
Well I assume this will take 3 or 4 years to stabilize, but they could bowlnext season and possibly contend by year 3
