Hard telling what's in that stuff. I've been there twice & I bet I've seen 25 kids stick their fingers in it.
I used to love Golden Carrol. Not anymore. Went to one in Nicholasville, Kentucky. Fat family came in, rather waddled in. Fat azzed kid about 16-17 years old picked up a piece of fried chicken. Bit into it, decided he didn't like it and put it back. reached in for another piece and plated it after tasting that one too. Family as a whole ignored tongs, just used hands to grab food. Did see one worker throw up his hands and walk into what I imagine was the kitchen. That was 3 years ago, never went to another GC since.
I had trouble at that particular one as well around that time frame. Some guy kept eyballing me funny when I was taste testing the food at the bar. It was kinda creepy.
The old Ryans on Kingston Pike actually had some pretty good mac n' cheese. I'd throw down with that all day as a kid.
I don't buffet hardly at all these days. Too much grease and fattening stuff that's unhealthy and people who have no decency or regard for others. Like the fat azzed slob who bit into the food and then put it back into the tray. Or kids and even grownups who sneeze onto the food without covering their mouths and nose. Stuff I've seen over time in various places. But there's one I'd like to revisit in hope it is still frequented by a better class of people, or at least was. While traveling west of the Mississippi, I stumbled upon a place called Soup or Salad. Basically, that's what they offered, various kinds of soups and you built your own salad whether it was potato or Mediterranean or whatever. The only thing I didn't like is that wherever I go that's not down South, so-called cornbread tastes like and has the texture of cake. Same thing as when I eat Mexican in Arizona, New Mexico or Tex-Mex in Texas then eat at some place East that claims it's Mexican food. Just doesn't cut it flavor-wise. In any case, the Soup or Salad buffet is the one place I haven't seen the above described behaviors. I'm certain sooner or later and they surely have already had such incidents, I haven't seen them. I have seen it at some of the lower to med level Las Vegas casino buffets like SamsTown and Palace Station Casino. In general, I steer clear of buffets.
My favorite Ryan's Steakhouse dish was/is that seafood salad. I know it isn't real seafood, and I just don't care!
