Just having that conversation with a friend. Sr baseball player who grew 2 or 3 inches in the past few months, stronger and more mature, heading for a big sr year. His chances of getting a scholly after injury his jr year are pretty much gone.
How are they gonna give players an extra year and still honor incoming commits? If only 11 or 12 scholarships are available and already planned for specific players, how does the ncaa guarantee the extra year?
I’d be surprised if winter sports athletes got an extra year. But as IP said, they’ll just lift the cap on the number of scholarship players allowed.
