Chavis is a joke. Don't think they researched this much. And I didn't know Mike Vrabel was coaching.

Chavis is definitely recruiting more at LSU. He has the Carolinas now, and he's been around quite a bit. That doesn't make him a top 50 recruiter per se, but he is much more visible to high school coaches in the area.

Guess he isn't getting a pass like he got with Fulmer. Fulmer quit paying attention and was just enjoying the title and perks of HC of major program the last several years.

Its amazing what happens when you work for a boss that hold you accountable.

Lots of talk about JC, surprised that there is not talk of Garner, his ability AND how Fulmer let him get away.

Deon Grant was on the radio and straight up said he and Jamal Lewis were barely aware of Tennessee before Rodney Garner.

No surprise. Ask MR how valuable RG was and the impact he had on GA's classes. The drop off in recruiting we experienced would not have occurred had RG remained. SMH.

Chavis on any recruiting list is a complete joke. That said, I do think there is something to say about working under a HC who holds you accountable. Chavis not only did liittle to no recruiting at Tennessee but Fulmer gave him way too much power behind the scenes where he was always causing all kinds of dissention among staff members. He was unfortuately a huge reason why Garner left. He was upset with all the attention Garner was getting on the recruiting trail.

Losing Garner was the beginning of the demise of Tennessee football. Fulmer letting him leave was probably the single biggest mistake of his career. Recruiting absolutely was not the same after he left. They went from basically owning the state of Georgia to getting the scraps.

The biggest mistake was Fulmer's phobia of any one from outside the Tennessee family.
