If he can keep the instate talent, he will be okay. I think the turn around time will be short since Penn State doesn't have to recruit nationally. I have no clue about his coaching ability though.
The Big Ten is so lame I think he will do fine by default. I wish I knew who else was interested or interviewed for the gig. A Pat Fitzgerald "character" hire would have seemed to make a lot of sense. Had Al Golden stayed at Temple one more year would he have wanted it? He's pretty immune to terrible situations.
I just see his personality mashing well with a bunch of people who don't want him there in the first place - current players, former players, and fans - it seems pretty united. I just don't see this working at all.
Listening to Franco Harris trying to catch a rational thought last night was painful. Of course I don't expect much from a "celebrity" who the only reason he's known is because he's a lazy ass. Listening to those clowns cry for Joe Paterno again is a reminder, again, at just how effed up society is.
