Why in the world would I want back a guy who was the worst coach in Tennessee history pre Dooley?

Battle may wind up being a great AD, but there is really nothing on his resume to let us know that. He's also 74 years old.

 

Lord I'm already dreading the introduction.

 

One hire like that and he'd have a statue next to Neyland.

I'm actually really fine with Blackburn. He can do the right things and knows how to keep money guys on same page. For better or worse, there's something to be said for knowing how to navigate the politics and culture of Tennessee. Imo anyway.

 

Would Battle even be in the conversation? He was deep red before he was orange, and he's not really done anything as an AD.
