Especially when they can read so much about him. Not sure if it has been shared, but just a simple piece on how his recruiting is full of busts compared to others. He is just a sham. http://247sports.com/Article/Butch-...ve-an-alarming-deficiency-developing-49389767
Especially when press like this is out there about how his recruiting has not paid off. http://247sports.com/Article/Butch-...ve-an-alarming-deficiency-developing-49389767
This needs more visibility, as it's going to get buried in the 70+ pages here. I think you should start a new thread with it.
I think this is a better demonstration of inability to build up a foundation, than it is of a shaky foundation. They aren't recruiting busts--they are victims of bad coaching.
I won't necessarily argue that point, however, just consider that there are a certain number of highly ranked recruits each year that do not pan out for some reason. What if we are more successful signing them as other teams may back off the close at the end? You can get caught chasing stars and overlook other things. Don't take this as an argument so much as a confirmation that it DEFINITELY is poor coaching, but it may include some less than accurate evaluations as well. Either way, it is an indictment of Butch.
Thanks. I think it's pretty telling that: 1) Despite his "great" recruiting, in the '13, '14, adn '15 classes, Butch had 10 top 100 recruits. Bama had 35. Florida had 12 in the middle of a coaching change. This would indicate to me that, although we may be ranked just behind the best in the country, there is a hell of a lot more distance between us and them than Rivals Rankings alone would suggest. 2) While we are turning 3/10 top 100 players into stars, Flarda and Bama Auburn are turning 6 out of every 10 into stars. We suck at evaluating or developing or both.
The recruiting services only rank the top 20 commits for each team so quantity doesn't play that big of a part
Add the fact that the legacy recruits makes the classes look better as well. How would he have done without the legacies?
