They do that already. Problem is that it can be a really, really, really bad feed. And it's not just in rural areas either. Catholic has the worst feed of any school I've seen.
Not saying it is a wrong call, but one has to assume money is a factor given the sports they named and the ones they didn't.
It is. Pretty much the fall/winter revenue sports. XC and women's soccer should get to come back to IMO.
Good to see women's basketball included. Athletic departments would have been hurting without that $0.36 generated for each university.
I think the better men's basketball is doing, the lower the ceiling for revenue for the lady Vols. A lot of their success financially was because not only were they so good, but the men's team wasn't a cushiony bandwagon. Now I'd say it is the opposite. Expectations for the ladies are still sky high, and they reliably have fallen short of them. Barnes finds ways to beat Kentucky even in down years. I guess I think they're pulling from the same trough, and it is heavily tilted away from the women now.
I’d say the interwebs just made it easier for lesbians to meet, instead of having to be coy and go to women’s basketball games to jump a rabbit from the brush
