Our definition of pressing Petersen was to send the buffoon Currie out to talk to him for a few hours. I'm not aware of any reports that we even gave Patterson or Gruden the time of day (officially). There were maybe talks bw boosters and Gruden. Even now, there are capable coaches out there who want to be our HC. Like Kiffin, Tee, Gruden(?).
Only hope here comes from Fulmer's pick to lead ETSU's football rebirth. He picked Carl Torbush. Torbush isn't going to set D-IA teams on fire, but he's a solid coach and a great hire for a D-IAA school. Torbush has done well. Having said that, pretty sure that the odds of lightning striking the same place twice are pretty small. Fulmer could make a good hire if he were willing to remove all emotion and drop old grudges.
