For those who haven't seen this - Iowa State fan makes a "Busch Light Supply Needs Replenished" sign for Gameday and puts his Venmo name on there as a joke. People send him tons of money. He gets 15 minutes of fame. He ends up donating and raising $1M for a children's hospital as a result. Also gets a years worth of Busch Light too. Turns out 8 years ago when he was 16 he quoted ToshO and there were racist tweets. They are going to include in story. He gets out and apologizes ahead of it. Why the hell do we have to dig up and include something that has 0 to do with this from 8 years ago when he was 16 years old? And people wonder why so many don't trust/hate the media.
24/7 news cycle and loss of revenue to other forms of information. They feel they have to do anything to make a buck. Kid could have kept that money but donates it instead. [uck fay] that newspaper.
And the reporter who wrote it apparently has some pretty offensive tweets from the past too. Guess what tough guy did? Locked his account.
Not a public figure. Did absolutely the right thing with the windfall. It does seem completely unnecessary.
So is this a thing where he just retweeted some racially charged jokes that Daniel Tosh made? Hardly seems worth mentioning even if Joe Biden did it.
That ratio is a thing to behold. And I love the fact that the reporter himself has a bunch of racist and homophobic tweets that he mass deleted.
I like that the reporter is being hammered, not the guy. I am sure someone is hammering the guy, but fewer is better.
Damn we live in a crazy world. A guy made a funny sign and made a lot of money off of it and gave to help sick children. Media: Lets drag that son of a [itch bay] through the mud because of two social medial post when he was 16.
It's good to see twitter when it's getting it right. If tweeting tosh is racist, how is he still on TV. I like Tosh by the way.
I'm just as pissed with the editors. Those two tweets have 0 to do with this. 0. Why even include it at the bottom of the article?
