I like the idea. Would require a nice tv deal though to work.

TV deal? Maybe. I'm thinking streaming. Either independent, or with an existing service. Imagine if Netflix wanted to add some live sports to their offering.

Confused why they think top players will take a paycut from Kentucky

Aren't the conferences already basically paying player? At least in the SEC. What is the cost of attendance payment that they give the scholarship athletes? I mean UTK gives football players $5,666 per semester as a stipend broke up as a monthly payment. Isn't that paying a player? I work with a guy who just had his son commit to the Alabama football program. Was talking with him last week and asking questions. He gets separate dorms, unlimited meal card, and a $1300 a month stipend. So, I get a little annoyed with the righteous indignation that they are starving college athletes. It's complete bullshit. At least in the SEC.

When player pay comes up, people usually argue schools would have to pay genders equally, because title ix. How would they get around that?
