Holly Rowe interview with Isaiah Austin

This is one of the saddest interviews I have ever seen. I feel absolutely awful for the kid.

It won't be much consolation, but I hope someone gives the kid a contract like we have seen in some other, similar situations.

 

It's terrible. The soundbite I heard where he was talking about replaying the dream of hearing his name called in the draft damn near made me tear up. I hope this kid can find something he loves to do that revolves around the game and within his physical abilities.

 

While sad, thank goodness for the pre-draft screening they do. It probably saved this kids life.

 

I believe Drew said he'd hire him as a coach at Baylor.

 

Would be a helluva gesture.

That's what I was thinking. I can't imagine the NBA physical being that much more thorough than what he was given at Baylor.

I mean, Scott Drew is apparently pretty crooked, but that's a whole other level of scummy

 

If I were to suspect anyone in college basketball of such conduct...

 

Scott Drew would do it in a heartbeat

 

While it sucks for him overcoming what he did and not getting to live out the dream, he did have a million dollar insurance policy, which is a hell of a lot more money than I'll ever see at one time.
