I've seen him play in person (his high school is about 20 minutes from my house) and he's insanely good.
No shit. I went from 165 to 210 in two years. If he's eating and lifting, he doesn't need to be gassed to pack on muscle. At least not at his age.
I came pretty close to doing that in high school and I'm a lot shorter than Jalen. Oh, and it definitely wasn't fat.
Jalen Hurds' Beech squad plays at Seigel Sept 27. That's about 30 minutes from me, I'm going to go watch.
Huge commit. Finally...a big, fast, play-maker 'back! Bates and the Berry Bros next! Keep the 'mo moving!
Hurd, TK Jr., Creamer, Wharton, Thomas - what's going on over there? Sure hope they can coach them up. Definitely cause for optimism. This going to be too tall, runs too high, etc. BS is silly. Elite RB that will be a great one. If you do nothing but look at the offer list - all of them as a RB - there is nothing left to say or argue about.
For several reasons, I've never liked Dickerson. That said, I'm pretty sure we would all be thrilled for if we Hurd is anywhere near that good. I don't want to be that guy, but I'll believe it when I see it.
As good as he looked in the highlight video, the defense looked pretty weak, although that can be expected for high school.
He plays solid competition by TN standards. He's just an elite talent. He put up 500 plus yards on the defending 5A champs and he ran through Columbia, who always has athletes, in the State title game.
The defenses he played were very unathletic. I am not sure where he will play when it is done but love having that discussion while he is in Orange. I will take all the blue chip athletes we can get. We have few right now. I am interested to see how far this will snowball before summer.
